Law School
Some people just naturally seem to ‘get it’ in law school, while others struggle with huge reading assignments, from which they are expected to somehow extract the rules of law. Then, what happens in the Socratic classroom has very little to do with what is expected on exams.
International LLM students face an additional set of challenges. They are knowledgeable and experienced in their own legal systems, but have to quickly get up to speed with a different teaching methodology as well as a different legal system.
When you find yourself struggling in law school, you need to act quickly to get help. One alternative is to work individually with a tutor. Please contact us if you would like one-to-one support reviewing and discussing particularly challenging topics, practicing hypotheticals, and getting individual feedback on sample exam questions.
We offer individual tutoring in a variety of subjects:
- The traditional 1L curriculum, including Contracts, Torts, Property, Civil Procedure and Criminal Law.
- Bar subjects, including Constitutional Law, Evidence, Business Organizations, Agency & Partnership, and Wills, Trusts & Estates.
- Electives such as International Law, Negotiation Skills and Contract Drafting.
Business Law
Business law courses are targeted at non-lawyers and intended to provide a general overview of legal subjects including business organizations, agency and employment law, contracts, torts and corporate governance. Greg actually got his start in the academic world by teaching a general business law course in an MBA program. We can provide support for a variety of courses intended for non-lawyers, including general and international business law, business associations, legal environment of business, negotiation and contract drafting.
Let us help you work towards success in your business law course!
Bar Exam
Most of our bar students have already taken the bar at least once, and usually after completing a commercial bar review course. They say that they need a more individualized study experience, with review of the more challenging subjects and practice applying the law to essays, performance tests and multiple-choice questions. Some also say that they need help sticking to an established study plan.
We have helped students get ready to take the following exams:
- California Bar Examination
- California First Year Law Students’ Exam (the Baby Bar)
- Nevada Bar Examination
- Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE)
- Uniform Bar Examination (UBE)

Law Admissions
Apart from your undergraduate GPA and LSAT score, the written submissions in your admissions file can have a big impact on the whole process. All candidates are going to need to submit a Personal Statement and Resume; some will also need to prepare one or more Addenda to explain specific aspects of their application file.
Our background includes both sides of the process. We have coached many applicants and provided extensive review and feedback on their personal statements, resumes and addenda. In addition, we have experience reviewing application files as part of a law school admissions team.
Let us help you present your unique story to the admissions committee in a way that maximizes your chance of a positive decision.
