Frequently Asked Questions

How does your tutoring work?

We generally start with an initial free consultation, followed by an evaluation of past results to diagnose areas for improvement. We work together to develop a study plan, then carry out our plan with a series of lessons to review problem areas, practice on hypotheticals and sample questions, finishing up with evaluation and feedback.

The process can be customized to suit the individual student. Some students send written materials for review ahead of time, others prefer to work through hypos and questions during our on-line sessions, while others come into the sessions prepared with a list of questions from the past few days of class.

How much does it cost?

Our goal is to offer quality academic support, customized to fit the needs of each student, at a reasonable cost. The cost will vary according to the number and frequency of sessions, time spent in on-line sessions, and time necessary for off-line review of written work. Please contact us for a detailed evaluation of your needs and an estimate.

Do you offer any special deals or discounts?

Yes, on a case-by-case basis. Depending on each student’s needs, we can generally work out a package deal that reduces the per-hour cost if the student can commit in advance to a certain number of sessions. Please contact us for a detailed evaluation of your needs and an estimate.

Have you worked with non-JD students?

Yes, many of them. We have taught Intro to US Law and Legal System to LLM students from all over the world, and have provided academic support for LLMs in their other classes. We have also tutored LLM graduates as they prepare for the New York and California bar examinations.

Do you offer LSAT preparation?

Not at this time, as we don’t have recent enough experience with this test. However, we are happy to point you in the direction of someone who has extensive experience in LSAT prep.

Can you do my assignment or take-home exam for me?

No. That would not be right, and could lead you into problems with your law school’s Honor Board and your state bar’s character and fitness examiners.

We can work with you in preparation for exams and assignments, but actually taking the exam or completing the graded assignment is your job.
